Thanks to the Macedonian team this LTTA session was another success. With a focus on mathematics, all teachers (even those who do not teach math!) presented games and game mechanics that can help children manipulate numbers, fractions, and other mathematical items.
Macedonian
students were very receptive to the game-based learning and gamification experiments.
They were 100% focused on the tasks at hand because they felt challenged and
engaged in the activities. This is arguably an important first step towards learning
because undivided attention is key to memorizing and understanding new concepts.
Cultural
activities were diverse and helped all teams discover North Macedonia, a
country not to be missed.
Last but
not least, many officials showed a keen interest in our project, and we can
thank the following people and organizations for their time with us:
-
Mrs.
Bisera Siljanovska, Minister of Culture based in Skopje
-
The
municipality of Bitola
-
Mr.
Toni Konjanovski, Mayor of Bitola
-
Mrs.
Snezana Petrovska, Counsellor in Education
