LTTA 6 Hosted by France - 2 to 7 July 2022

Even though the mobility to France was successfully carried out as a virtual mobility in May 2021, participants felt the need to meet again in real life in France to mark the end of the project.

Participants landed in Paris on Saturday, July 2nd.  The French team took everyone on a tour in Paris to discover some of the most famous landmarks.

On Sunday, July 3rd, all participants visited the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie, a great source of inspiration for teachers. Many of the science subjects represented there (space, sound, wildlife, among other themes) can be covered at school. The real strength of the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie is to present the topics in a manner that is easily transferable to gamified classes.

The rest of the day was dedicated to travelling to Vitrey-Sur-Mance, close to Jussey, where the participants were accommodated.

On Monday, July 4th, all participants were given a presentation on the French educational system and a cultural welcome by the pupils of the school Pôle Educatif de Vitrey-Sur-Mance. Then everyone participated in games with French pupils, first to have a better knowledge of the participating countries and then to develop English skills with younger pupils.

Participants were then given a warm welcome by the mayor, M. Frédéric Berger.

A time slot was dedicated to writing the final report together and participants were then taken to a woodworking and honey making shop, to illustrate local cultural activities.

On Tuesday, July 5th, participants were welcomed with a speech to the Collège Louis Pasteur in Jussey by the headmaster and by a student. To further develop on the concept of gamification, participants were then encouraged to take a gamified tour of the city. Additional time was dedicated to writing the final report.

The rest of the day took place in Besançon, where all participants could visit the Citadelle and most importantly participate in a school games workshop hosted by the game shop “les jeux de la conté”. Specialized staff gave us a presentation on the latest games that can be used in schools for various subjects and for various ages groups.

On Wednesday, July 6th, participants were invited to visit local businesses such as a farm “GAEC des Fosses” and a brewery “Redoutey”. Such businesses are the life and blood of our rural region. Additional time was dedicated to writing the final report. After that, we organized the certificates ceremony.

On Thursday, July 7th, participants were given more time to complete the final report. It was also time to say goodbye and everybody went home.
